Successful Cancer Screening Programme by ATTUR IMA &WOMEN DOCTORS at AROKIA MADHA NILAYAM HOSPITAL GANGAVALLI On the 16th, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) of Attur, in collaboration with the Women Doctors Wing and the AAO GAO Chalan Project, organized a comprehensive cancer screening program at Arokia Madha Hospital, Gangavalli. This event was strategically designed to enhance health awareness and detect potential health issues early, emphasizing the importance of regular screenings.
Key Highlights:
- A total of 80 women from various wards partook in health screenings. They were tested for Hemoglobin levels, Blood Sugar, Hypertension, Breast Cancer, and Cervical Cancer, providing a broad perspective on their overall health.
- Of those screened, 5 women underwent PAP SMEAR tests specifically targeted at detecting signs of cervical cancer. These women are scheduled to receive dedicated follow-up care to ensure continuity in monitoring their health.
- During the screening, 3 women were newly diagnosed with Diabetes, highlighting the critical role of such programs in identifying previously undiagnosed conditions.
- Additionally, 13 women were found to have anemia, signaling the need for nutritional interventions and further medical guidance.

On February 17, 2025, at AMN Hospital, undervthe leadership of Dr. Martina and Dr. Sowmiya a comprehensive breast and cervical cancer awareness program was conducted. This event emphasized the importance of preventive health measures and self-care practices. A special focus was placed on educating attendees about the correct techniques for self-examination of the breast, an essential practice for early detection. Additionally, there was an informative session on the significance of vaccination against cervical cancer, highlighting the available vaccines and their role in prevention. The program aimed to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to take proactive steps in managing their health effectively.
10/02/2025 Dr. Martina attended CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS DAY programme arranged by CLUNY SOCIAL SERVICE CENTRE at Koneripatty. Dr. Vanitha from Thammampatti GH, health inspectors, Lady constable and gents constables from police department also participated in this awareness programme. The rally by children parliament children carrying awareness pluck cards were taken around the village.
On February, 10th, 2025, in observance of National Deworming Day, our team from AIMA, in collaboration with Dr. Velumani, the Block Medical Officer, held an awareness session at Gangavalli Girls Higher Secondary School. The aim was to educate the students on the importance of deworming and maintaining good health. Following the informative session, we distributed Albendazole tablets to the students to aid in the prevention of worm infections, emphasizing the significance of such initiatives in promoting overall health and well-being among young learners.
